The Russian military has said its forces carried out large-scale overnight strikes against Ukrainian defense industry sites, using drones and long-range precision-guided weapons. Ukrainian officials also reported waves of missile and drone attacks across multiple cities, including the capital Kiev, as well as Lviv and Lutsk on Friday morning.
«The barrage, which included air-, sea-, and land-based missiles as well as unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), was a response to recent “terrorist acts” carried out by Kiev, Russia’s Defense Ministry said on Friday, according to RT (former Russia Today.
Multiple explosions were reported across several districts of Kiev and its suburbs early Friday morning, with mayor Vitaly Klitschko claiming that Ukrainian air defenses were engaging incoming missiles and drones. The official initially said that debris had only fallen on the territory of non-residential buildings. He later claimed that at least four people were killed and 20 injured.
Fires broke out in several neighborhoods following the shelling, which also hit a residential building, civilian infrastructure and a hangar. The shelling also damaged railway tracks in the Kiev region.
Surveillance footage reportedly captured by a CCTV camera somewhere in the Kiev region appeared to show the moment a US-supplied Patriot air defense system attempted to engage an incoming missile with four interceptors before apparently being hit.
The targets of Russia’s overnight strikes included “design bureaus, enterprises involved in production and repair of Ukraine’s weapons and military equipment, workshops for the assembly of attack drones, flight training centers as well as warehouses of weapons and military equipment,” the statement read. “The goal of the strike was achieved. All designated facilities were hit,” the ministry said.

The Kh-101 (Cyrillic: Х-101, NATO reporting name: AS-23a Kodiak) is a Russian-made subsonic stealth cruise missile, developed by MKB Raduga since the 1990s and entered service with the Russian Air Force in 2012 to equip strategic launchers such as the Tu-95MS, Tu-22M3 and Tu-160M.
Designed to strike targets at long ranges in low flight, it is a radical development of the Kh-55, abandoning the circular fuselage in exchange for a lifting body with stealth characteristics.
The Kremlin has decided not to use the very powerful Oreshnik missile but to demonstrate the power of its arsenal with known conventional warhead vectors.

A Weapons depot located in an underground bunker has been wiped by Russian Army.
The building contained 56 Storm Shadow missiles, 32 Patriot air defense missiles and 53 ATACMS missiles has been reportedly destroyed in Lutsk, according to Pravda.

New sabotage derails Russian locomotive near Ukraine
