As expected, the “ceasefire resolution” has got the world abuzz. While Hamas has welcomed it by thanking the UN Security Council, the occupying regime is deeply unhappy and distressed.
In its statement, Hamas has called for a permanent ceasefire that “leads to the withdrawal of all Zionist forces from the Gaza Strip, and the return of the displaced to the homes from which they left”.
To demonstrate its commitment to comply with the resolution, Hamas said it is willing “to engage in an immediate prisoner exchange process that leads to the release of prisoners on both sides”.
In addition, Hamas has called on the UN Security Council “to pressure the occupation to adhere to the ceasefire and stop the war of genocide and ethnic cleansing against our people”.

As the minutes were ticking at the UN Security Council on Monday, with member states seen huddling in groups before the session commenced, Netanyahu issued an ultimatum to US President Joe Biden: If you fail to veto it, I will cancel the trip of my envoys to you.

His threat failed dismally. The Biden administration, which has militarily and financially supported the Israeli genocidal war on Gaza in the past 172 days, abstained from voting.
Importantly, the US vetoed Gaza ceasefire resolutions on three occasions in recent months. By not exercising its veto power this time, the resolution sailed through with the support of all 14 states.
The much-awaited resolution demands an immediate ceasefire for the holy month of Ramadan. It also calls for an immediate release of “hostages”, without conditioning it.
At least 22 people killed in Israeli air strike on Khan Yunis
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has delivered an air strike on residential buildings in the city of Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip killing at least 22 people, Al Jazeera reported.
According to the TV channel, children were among the victims. The news outlet noted that the residents received no advance warning of the airstrike.
From UN to US, Whole World Condemns New Horrendous Zionist Carnage in Gaza
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) is mounting an assault on the city of Qabatiya south of the Jenin refugee camp in the West Bank killing at least one civilian and wounding two others, Palestine’s WAFA news agency reported.
According to it, a 13-year-old was killed and one of the injured is in serious condition.
Hezbollah hits Israeli military sites in reprisal for repeated attacks on southern Lebanon
The Lebanese Hezbollah resistance movement has carried out multiple operations against Israeli military positions in the northern part of the 1948-occupied territories in support of Palestinians in Gaza and in retaliation for Israeli attacks on southern Lebanon villages.
Lebanon’s Arabic-language al-Mayadeen television news channel, citing a brief Hezbollah statement, reported that Hezbollah fighters attacked the Israeli Jal al-Alam military base and a gathering of troops nearby on Friday with surface-to-surface Falaq (Dusk) missiles in reprisal for the latest Israeli aggression on the Syrian capital of Damascus and the northwestern city of Aleppo.
The resistance fighters also struck the Metula settlement with various weapons and targeted an Israeli military vehicle station in a drone attack. Designated targets were precisely hit and destroyed in the aerial assault.
Hezbollah members targeted the al-Samaqa site in the Kfarchouba Hills with a barrage of rockets.Moreover, the Lebanese resistance fighters shelled an Israeli infantry unit in the Hadab Yaroun site with a salvo of artillery rounds, inflicting injuries among troops stationed there. A number of Israeli military vehicles were hit and damaged at the al-Malikiyah site as well.
Thousands of protesters surround Israeli embassy in Jordan
For the sixth night in a row, thousands of Jordanians have demonstrated near the Israeli embassy in Amman to voice their support for Palestinians in Gaza.
The demonstrators gathered in front of the Israeli embassy on Friday, calling on the Jordanian government to cancel its highly unpopular peace treaty with Israel and end all its other agreements with the occupying regime.
Protesters slammed the latest Israeli crimes, in particular its attacks on hospitals and refugee camps in Gaza.
They expressed their support for Palestinian resistance groups and reiterated their demand for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza. They also called on the Jordanian government to cancel its peace treaty with Israel and close the regime’s embassy in the Arab country.
Jordan signed a peace treaty with Israel in 1994 amid efforts at the time by the US to work out a so-called two-state solution to the Palestinian conflict, an initiative which has failed to bear fruit after nearly three decades.
The protesters also demanded that the export of goods from Jordan to the occupied territories be stopped, as they chanted slogans in support of the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas.
Jordanians have been taking to the streets over the past few days to condemn the regime’s crimes in the Gaza Strip. Jordanian security forces have in the past broken up demonstrations with tear gas and arrests, leaving several people injured.
PRESS TV – US sending more bombs, fighter jets to Israel for war in Gaza
A new report says the administration of US President Joe Biden has authorized the transfer of billions of dollars in bombs and fighter jets to Israel in recent days amid the regime’s genocidal war against the Palestinians in Gaza.
Pentagon and State Department officials said the new arms packages include more than 1800 bombs, The Washington Post reported.
According to the report, these are 2000-pound devices that can demolish entire city blocks and are rarely used in populated areas. Israel, however, has used them extensively in Gaza.
Some Democrats, including allies of President Biden, say the US government has a responsibility to withhold weapons in the absence of an Israeli commitment to limit civilian casualties during a planned operation in Rafah, and ease restrictions on humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip, which is on the brink of famine.
“The Biden administration needs to use their leverage effectively and, in my view, they should receive these basic commitments before greenlighting more bombs for Gaza,” Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.) said in an interview. “We need to back up what we say with what we do.”
Last week, the State Department also authorized the transfer of 25 F-35 fighter jets and engines to Israel. The arms supplies go against the US call for a ceasefire in Gaza.
